Doug Chiapuzio
After over 20 years of practice, Doug Chiapuzio continues to enjoy his career as an attorney, or as he likes to call it: problem solver. It is not unlike his old sailing days where one must adjust to the constantly changing winds, tides and conditions to successfully navigate to your destination. One needs to anticipate the changes to address not only today's issues, but issues likely to arise in the future. The same is true whether Doug is assisting clients on estate planning matters, probate or trust administration, business transactions, or income tax issues.
Benjamin Franklin once said there are only two things certain in life... death and taxes. Doug has added a third item to the list... tax laws will change. Over the years, Doug has witnessed many changes to the tax laws and works with clients to take advantage or avoid the pitfalls of these changes in their business or estate planning. After graduating from Willamette University School of Law, Doug's career began in the tax department of what is now Deloitte & Touche where he obtained his required experience for becoming a certified public accountant. His experience and training at Deloitte greatly enhance the estate planning and income tax issues he addresses today. Doug continues to also be licensed as a CPA. These days, you are more likely to find Doug on a golf course than a sailboat, but it is still a matter of anticipating and avoiding the hazards. Doug and his wife spend time following their children's activities.
