Gary P. Compa - In Memoriam

Kell, Alterman & Runstein is deeply saddened by the death of longtime partner and friend, Gary P. Compa.  Gary passed away in May 2016. 

He was New Jersey native, joining the firm in 1981.  With a practice focusing on taxation and estate planning, Gary developed a strong reputation for his unique tax law perspectives honed from having worked as an estate tax attorney with the IRS in Wisconsin for five years in the late ‘70's.  He never regretted his decision to move to Portland over offers from other firms in Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco, citing a preference for the Portland lifestyle and the firm’s small-business niche.  He found his home at Kell, Alterman & Runstein, L.L.P.

In his spare time, Gary was an avid golfer, who also enjoyed spending time with this family.

Gary will be missed by his partners, colleagues and friends.
